چکیده
The primary coexisting mineral with galena is sphalerite. Hence, it critical to selectively separate from sphalerite by flotation. In this work, thiourea and related derivatives as potential flotation collectors for separating were investigated. Thiourea its found be effective selective in batch studies of a single mineral, 1,1-diphenylthiourea (11DTA) emerging the best choice. Galena has superior floatability compared presence 11DTA, recovery difference between two minerals at pH 8 (where 11DTA concentration 5 × 10−6 mol/L) around 38%. This was revealed using artificial mixed minerals. Moreover, findings measurements adsorption amount, FTIR, zeta XPS that strong on yet relatively weak Additionally, DFT calculations demonstrated exhibits stronger hydrophilicity than galena, possessed better affinity galena.

Synergetic Effect of the Mixed Anionic/Non-Ionic Collectors in Low Temperature Flotation of Scheelite
The synergetic effect of four octaphenyl polyoxyethyienes (TX) on low temperature flotation of scheelite at 9–11 ◦C was investigated through flotation experiments, and the adsorption mechanism was studied by way of surface tension, zeta potential, and adsorption measurement. The results show that the presence of the four octaphenyl polyoxyethyienes can improve scheelite flotation in a low conce...
متن کاملSynergistic Adsorption and Flotation of New Mixed Cationic/Nonionic Collectors on Muscovite
The mixed cationic collector cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) and nonionic collector octanol (OCT) was found to exhibit a synergistic effect on the flotation and adsorption of muscovite. To understand the underlying synergistic mechanism, flotation, contact angle, surface tension, and adsorption measurements were carried out. The results obtained from flotation measurements indicated that...
متن کاملFlotation and adsorption of mixed cationic/anionic collectors on muscovite mica
The adsorption of dodecylamine acetate (DAA), sodium oleate (NaOL) and DAA–NaOL mixtures on muscovite mica were investigated through flotation tests, zeta potential measurements, and pyrene fluorescence tests. The results show that the muscovite mica has a negative charge over the pH range 2–12. The muscovite mica did not float in the presence of NaOL alone. However, the recovery of muscovite m...
متن کاملFlotation of zinc silicate ore: A focus on effective parameters, synergistic effect of mixed cationic collectors and its mechanism
The present study addresses the direct flotation route for the concentration of a zinc silicate ore. Flotation of hemimorphite faces some challenges due to the similarity of hemimorphite and quartz surface properties. XRD, and XRF analyses, optical mineralogy and SEM with X-ray mapping were performed for characterization. The results showed that the quartz, hemimorphite, calcite and dolomite ar...
متن کاملThiourea and Thiourea Inclusion Compounds. A N NQR Investigation
A reinvestigation of the nitrogen-14 NQR in thiourea has permitted to record, apparently for the first time, the resonances above 169 K. The first order and second order of the transitions at 169 K and 202 K, respectively, appear clearly from the temperature dependence of the resonance frequencies; the modulated structure, incommensurate or commensurate, is also seen on the N NQR spectrum. This...
